Does scanning a tyre add a heat cycle?
No. A scan identifies a tyre. Fitment, removal and actual usage are separate records, so a scan alone must not count as a heat cycle.
Engineering records
RaceControl records tyres, their fitment to and removal from cars, and their usage history. Staff can identify tyres using supported phone-camera or barcode-scanner workflows. Fitment records and recorded heat cycles are separate: scanning a tyre does not, by itself, mean it completed a heat cycle.
A tyre's identity, fitment history and usage should remain traceable as it moves between storage and a car. Use the tyre area to keep these records with your team's engineering work.
Scanning is an identification step, not proof of tyre use. Phone-camera scanning depends on device support, camera permission and a readable code. Barcode scanners need to supply an identifier the system recognises.
Heat-cycle and usage records reflect the information staff enter about actual tyre use. RaceControl does not infer tyre temperatures from a scan or claim to certify a tyre's condition.
Questions
No. A scan identifies a tyre. Fitment, removal and actual usage are separate records, so a scan alone must not count as a heat cycle.
The tyre workflows support phone-camera scanning and barcode scanners. Camera use requires a supported device, permission and readable codes.
This feature records tyre information and actual usage. It does not claim automatic temperature measurement or telemetry integration.
